Donations Are Needed!

Donations: The William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition is completely orchestrated by volunteers who are members of the St. Cecilia Society of Flint, Michigan. It is our goal to produce a wonderful competition while keeping the costs for contestants to a minimum. All gifts help to make the competition free and accessible for students and the public. We rely on donations to cover the costs of the competition each year. Your donation is tax deductible to the level allowed by the IRS rules. All donors of gifts of $25 or more will be recognized in the Byrd Finals printed program. All gifts are greatly appreciated.

Donation checks should be made payable to the St. Cecilia Society and sent to The St. Cecilia Society, c/o Flint Institute of Music, 1025 E. Kearsley St., Flint, MI 48503. Please indicate that your gift is for the Byrd Fund. Gifts may be given in honor or memory of family or friends.

Suggested levels of giving:

$25 to $99
A gift of $25 covers the cost of feeding a contestant or accompanist the day of the competition. A $99 gift would cover the cost of tuning the piano.

$100 to $499
This level of giving helps cover costs such as the printing and mailing of brochures to 400 schools of music or maintaining a web site.

$500 to $999
A gift in this giving range would help pay the travel expenses for the judges and the accompanists supplied by the St. Cecilia Society.

$1000 to $3999
A gift of $1000 would pay the fee of a professional judge for the competition, a finalist's prize, the second place winner's prize, or half of the winner's $6000 prize.

Sustainer level: $4000 and up
This donation level may be directed to the Byrd Endowment Fund. The interest accrued from this fund covers part of the annual costs of producing the William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition.
